We have officially launched our exciting OPAL PLAYTIME initiative!
After months of preparation and planning – and the collection of 1000s of pieces of loose-part resources – we are delighted to have launched ‘OPAL PLAYTIMES’ across school!
Many thanks to everyone who has donated resources for the children to play with at playtimes – this will be an ongoing plea, so if you have anything that you think the children will enjoy using, please speak to the school office or a member of the OPAL Working Party:
- Lee Harrison (headteacher)
- Harriet Jackson (Curricular Lead for Play / Assistant Head / Pastoral Lead)
- Karen Wells (Play Coordinator responsible for school council)
- Stacey Armstrong (Play Coordinator and part of the midday team)
- Lee Gaskin (Governor Play Champion)
- Kristy Sutterby (Parent Play Champion and Christ Church Network rep)
- Kerrie Ince (Parent Play Champion and part of the midday team)
As well as your generous donations, we have also invested in brand new resources that will enhance our outdoor playtime offer.
To get a better idea of what OPAL Playtimes look like when they are established, have a look at this school video about the impact of OPAL in their school:

Our OPAL Playtime provision will evolve and grow over time as staff and pupils get more confident with following the ‘Playwork Principle’s to encourage children to explore and engage with activities during playtime.
